Data2Sea has paid off for industry and government

NNCC is proud to announce that the challenges during the SeaSEC Challenge Weeks 2026 has paid off for both industry and government.

We can proudly share that Sweden is buying a Blueye X3 underwater drone. The procurement process was finalized within three days after the event. This emphasizes the acceleration which is incredibly important in current state of the world.

The purpose of this procurement is to ad new tools to the Swedish Naval Warfare Centre (NWC) and their Maritime Experimentation Office (MaX) in order to help develop their navy’s warfare capabilities.

The Swedish saw that the system has proven to be reliable and useful during the SeaSEC Challenge Weeks 2026 and the Swedish Navy aims to take full benefit of its versatility in experimentation and in support of our different units within the navy, and to test its capabilities in different situations and environments.

Initially the ROV will be used within the NWC Diving and Naval Medicine Centre (DNC) to evaluate its use as a complement to, or in some cases, a replacement to, human diving. In addition the system will be used in several other areas within the navy and will facilitate experimentation and development within several fields. The aim is to increase the tempo of going from an identified requirement or a possibility to a realized capability in line with the development of the Swedish Navy. This way of working enables forced development in parallel to normal capability development and a speed of development that the situation requires.
