Northern Naval Capability Cooperation is a defence cooperation between six Northern European nations: the Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Norway.

 

This initiative unites governments, industries and research and technology organisations (RTO’s) to accelerate the availability and effectiveness of northern naval capabilities – by turning ambition into action.

Focus

Accelerating the deployment of uncrewed and autonomous systems, to counter rapidly evolving threats in challenging environments in the Baltic and the North Sea.

Propositions

Accelerated acquisition processes for naval system of systems to enhance maritime domain awareness in the Baltic and the North Sea.
Improved interoperability and interchangeability of naval materiel deployed by the NNCC navies.
Adaptable solutions provided by NNCC industry, proven in realistic operational conditions.

The SeaSEC Challenge Weeks in Rostock, launched under the banner ‘Data2Sea’ , are now fully underway. Following the initial build-up and opening phase, the programme has moved into an intensive period of operational trials, collaboration, and live demonstrations focused on strengthening the protection of underwater infrastructure across NNCC nations.

Data2Sea has paid off for both industry and government

NNCC is proud to announce that the challenges during the SeaSEC Challenge Weeks 2026 has paid off for both industry and government.

We can proudly share that Sweden is buying a Blueye X3 underwater drone. The procurement process was finalized within three days after the event. This emphasizes the acceleration which is incredibly important in current state of the world.

International Procurement Cooperation: Insights from the Brussels Field Trip

The postgraduate master’s programme International Procurement Cooperation from Zentrum für Wissenschaftliche Weiterbildung an der Helmut-Schmidt-Universität organised a 3 day field trip to Brussels to discuss the tips, tops, pitfalls and tricks of international military procurement cooperation, hosted by the Hanse Office.
